Ah, good ol’ turkey and dressing. ‘Tis the season for this classic Thanksgiving side dish to grace our tables and dinner plates, and I’ll be the first in line to plop a heaping of it on my plate on Thanksgiving day! Dressing can be quite a controversial topic, especially here in the south. Much like the long running soda vs. pop debate, the country seems to be a bit divided on the proper name for this dish. Some say stuffing, and some say dressing, and while there technically is a difference, it’s minor. Stuffing is cooked inside a bird, and dressing is cooked inside a pan. No matter how you prepare it, all I know is that I want a whole bunch of it!

During this season of our lives, it’s really hard for us to be able to slow down. These Sweet Potato Casserole Stuffed Egg Rolls are a fun twist on a classic Thanksgiving side dish! With a cinnamon-sugar coating, they’re absolutely divine!

While everyone has already begun decking their halls with Christmas decor, I’m over here loosening up my belt in preparation for Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday to celebrate, and the types of foods that are always present on the table are some of my favorite dishes that ever existed. I’ve never met a casserole that I didn’t like, and sweet potato casserole ranks pretty high on my bracket of Thanksgiving menu favorites!

I’m all for sharing recipes that are on the simple-side (hence the name Southern Made Simple.) Having 20 different steps in a recipe is not typically how I roll, because I’m a firm believer you can achieve big flavors without jumping through circus hoops to get there. And while all of that still remains true, it’s necessary to make an exception from time to time. Some recipes just require a little bit more love to make, but those recipes are often some of the very best recipes, and the work put in is always worth the reward! These Glazed Sweet Potato Doughnuts are one of those recipes – made with a lot of love, a little elbow grease and a whole lot of goodness!

They changed the game in some really big ways, cutting cook time dramatically for women putting together desserts for their families to enjoy. As we’re winding up the final months of 2019, I can’t help but think about how we’re in the home stretch of wrapping up an entire decade. So much personal growth has happened in the last 10 years, including marrying my soulmate, starting a family and building our home.
