For just a moment, you’ve stepped into another place where time moves a little slower. The air is a little warmer and smells a little sweeter. People know you by name and your worries are few. Some call this place the South, but I love to call it home.
Why don’t you take a load off and sit a spell while you’re here? I’ll pour you some sweet tea.
They say there’s no place on Earth like a cozy front porch. Whether you’re sitting alone or sitting with others, the conversation is always good. It’s a perfect place to reflect, relax, ponder and grow.
Southern Made simple is my little slice of pie. It’s my place to share my favorite aspects of Southern culture with you and to show you ways to make life a little more simple for you and your family.
If you love Southern cuisine, then mosey on over to my collection of home cooked goodness. I’ll be there sharing my family’s favorite dishes and showing you how to make them. Do you like to dabble in a little DIY project every now and then? Stop by my DIY corner! I’ll be there with glue-gun in hand, ready to tackle that project with you! Or perhaps you’d like to chat about the latest play-pretties for the little ones. I’m all about the sharing the baby love, too!
Now that you’ve made yourself at home, why don’t you just stay a while? There’s always lots of fun things happening here, so be sure not to miss out on the good stuff! You can sign up for my weekly newsletter below. It’s always packed with goodies, don’t you worry!
Why, I’m so glad you asked! I’m Laura, and I’m just tickled pink that you stopped by.
I married the love of my life in 2012 after graduating from college and earning a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. We welcomed our little girl into the world in May 2015. She’s as sweet as pie and is our absolute pride and joy. We just welcomed our second daughter into the world in July 2018, and we’re so excited to see the sisterly bond between them flourish!
We built the home of our dreams in 2017 down a quiet red dirt road in rural Alabama. (To give you an idea of how rural we’re talking, there are only 3 traffic lights in the entire county, and the closest one to my house is about a 30 minute drive.) Although sometimes it’s not so fun driving 30+ minutes to go buy groceries, I honestly wouldn’t change a thing about it! Our community is made of some of the nicest people in the world, and we are so blessed to call this place our home!
When I’m not tending to my little one, I’m probably whipping up a little somethin’ sweet in the kitchen, taking a stab at a cool craft project I saw on Pinterest, or binge watching anything on The Food Network. I absolutely love learning new things and sharing those things with others. Let’s be friends!
