When the clock struck midnight on October 1st, my blood started bubbling with excitement about all of the festivities coming up this month. For us, October is always jam packed with fun activities. We’re SO ready to visit the local pumpkin patch, go on hay rides, snuggle up together next to a bonfire, and maybe even tour a “haunted” house. Not to mention we’ve been counting down the days until Halloween since August!
Every week leading up to Halloween, I like to bubble up a sweet little spooky concoction in my cauldron that all of the creepy critters in my family will love. This week, we’re making Orange Fanta® Scream-sicle Floats – and they’re wickedly refreshing and fun!
If you’re looking for a quick-fix treat for an upcoming Halloween party or event, OR if you just like to get caught up in the season and indulge a little without having to put something extravagant together, this will definitely be right up your alley! It only takes 3 ingredients to put together this frighteningly fantastic Halloween treat!
Last weekend I headed out to my local Family Dollar store to pick up some of the supplies I needed. As soon as I walked in the front door, this Halloween display full of Fanta products was there to greet me. (Be on the lookout for specially marked Halloween packages of Fanta, too!)
If you’re really feeling creative, you can use any of the 8 Fanta flavors to make all sorts of creepy drink “potions” for your Halloween fright night. In addition to my Orange Scream-Sicle float, I’m thinking of brewing up a “Goblin Grape Punch”, or maybe even a “Bloody Cherry Sundae”!
For this particular float, you’ll start with the base of what every good float has: Ice cream! Since I really wanted the Orange Fanta flavor to pop, I decided to go with orange sherbet. Vanilla would also be an excellent choice!
Just pour the Fanta over the ice cream and watch all of that orange-y goodness bubble up to the top!
Next, top the float with a heaping pile of whipped cream! I like to pile mine up as high as I can get it. The more the merrier in my opinion!
Finally, add a couple of candy googly eyes, draw on a crooked little ghoulish grin and grab a spoon or straw and dig in! They’re wickedly good fun and perfect for people of all ages!
Here’s a free printable copy of the recipe so you can give it a try. I’d love to hear how creative you get when creating your own!
