Alright you guys, it’s time to put on your favorite jersey and grab your foam finger, ‘cuz it’s time to get yourself in the zone and get ready for The Big Game! It’s no secret that I’m a huge football fan. As much as I love to watch the game on TV, my heart truly lies over on the snack bar where all of the game day food is (just being honest!)
And since the Big Game is coming up right around the corner, I’ve been making my list (and checking it twice) trying to come up with a game plan as to what dishes are going to make the draft pick and end up on our game day spread. The first thing that “popped” into my mind was to fix up a big batch of popcorn that would pack a punch of heat and leave my family cheering for more!
I absolutely adore caramel popcorn, so I thought it might be fun to find a way to spice it up. I’m always craving foods that combine sweet and spicy, so I knew making a bowl of Smokin’ Sriracha Caramel Popcorn was going to be the winning combination to feed my craving.
When I’m getting creative in the kitchen, I want to make sure I’m working with the best quality ingredients, and that’s why I always reach for Orville Redenbacher® Movie Theater Popcorn. It’s always been my number 1 pick for movie night, and I knew if I wanted to do game day right, I needed Orville Redenbacher on my team. I headed out to my local Walmart to pick up everything I needed to get things poppin’ and ready for game time.
Fun Fact: I actually worked at a movie theater for about 2 years when I was in college. I was around popcorn almost every single day, so I became very in tune with what good popcorn tasted like. I learned how to pop popcorn using a massive popping machine. I knew the proper oil-to-kernel ratio, how much seasoning salt to add, and how much “extra butter” was an appropriate amount when people asked for it. I don’t want to toot my own horn here, but I know what good popcorn is. Movie theater popcorn is always the best, and Orville Redenbacher Movie Theater Popcorn is so close to perfect, I feel like I’m right back in my college days every time I make a batch!
If you’ve never made a batch of caramel popcorn before, you’ve GOT to give it a try! It’s SO quick and simple to make, and it totally transforms your popcorn into something so snack-tastically awesome! Plus, adding a little sriracha to it will really kick things up a notch, trust me. 😉
