There’s no doubt about it – my little one absolutely loves being outside. I believe she would run around and play out in the sun all day long if i’d let her. She had to have gotten that from her father, because I don’t have an outdoorsy gene in my whole entire body. I am an air conditioner enthusiast and I love nothing more than to kick off my shoes and run my toes through the soft, plush carpet. Just being honest, y’all! đ
However, that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy getting outside in the afternoons and having a little outdoor play time with my sweet girl. Seeing her light up with excitement and wonder as her tiny little legs run all over the place exploring new things totally makes up for this horrendously humid Alabama weather we have. Seeing her happy brings so much joy into my day, and I’m so happy to have the opportunity to play with her whenever she wants!
Since we’re in the middle of building a brand new home, we’ve cut down a good bit on traveling and vacations. Instead of heading down to the beach this year, we stayed at home during Memorial Day weekend and made a few new memories playing underneath the shade tree down the road at our church.
My daughter lights up like a Christmas tree when I take her to play on the playground equipment, and as soon as we got there she made a beeline for the basketball goal. She just recently discovered how to toss a bouncy ball up high into the air, so she had a blast aiming for the net and chasing the ball all over the yard.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before all the excitement caught up with her and caused her little legs to get all tangled up. She got a little too excited and tripped and fell down, throwing her into a classic two-year-old meltdown with crocodile tears, runny nose and the whole nine yards. After making sure there were no scraped knees and dusting the dirt and grass off of her hands, it was determined that the only thing hurt were her feelings. đ
It’s moments like these that my little girl looks to me to dust off my super-woman cape and swoop in to save the day. I dove right in and gave her lots of kisses for her “boo-boos” and wiped away her poor little tears. Realizing that this little incident put a slight damper on our fun, I decided it was time to turn this stressful moment into a sweet MOMent!
That’s when I broke out the Budget Savers Twin Pops and turned that little frown upside down!
As much as I love to go the homemade route with special treats during the summer, there are those times where IÂ just want to reach for those sweet, nostalgic rainbow pops to really make our summertime extra sweet. I vividly remember eating Budget Savers Twin Pops during the summer as a child. I’d always pick out my favorite flavor and split it in half to share with one of the neighborhood kids from down the street who came over to play. Keeping these delicious sweet pops in my freezer instantly takes me back to my childhood, and I love being able to tie them in into my own daughter’s childhood, too!
Once my little one saw me open up the Budget Savers Twin Pops, she immediately pointed to the red one and squealed with joy. I pulled out a boo-boo bandage from my bag and fixed her “boo-boo” and handed her a cherry flavored pop and watched her run all over that play area until she was all tuckered out. Budget Savers helped me turn a sour moment into a sweet “MOMent” in a flash!
Did you know that the Twin Pop was originally created during the great depression so two children could split a pop for just a nickel?
