With spring in full swing, my inner “spring cleaning” gene that has been lying dormant for months has finally come back to life, and I’ve been itching to get this house squeaky clean and to get a fresh start. With two very small children in the house, my floor and furniture are currently taking bets with each other to see which one can collect the most graham cracker crumbs and juice splatters. So far, they’re both pretty neck and neck! I’ve always said that cleaning your house with a toddler in it is like brushing your teeth while you’re eating chocolate cake – it’s nearly impossible! But alas, the house won’t clean itself!
Since the weather has been perfect for getting in a good bit of outdoor play, I’ve been letting my oldest daughter have free rein of the backyard and she is able to go out and come in as she pleases. This is great for me to get in a little cleaning while she plays, but it certainly doesn’t come without its share of disadvantages. Little miss loves to leave the door hanging wide open when she’s running in and out of the house. Reminding her to close the door behind her seems to fall on deaf ears most of the time, and I’ve been seeing more and more bugs creeping into my house. Honestly, I can’t blame them. They’ve got an all-you-can-eat buffet of crumbs on my floor to feast on!
Living in south Alabama, I’ve come across some pretty funky creepy crawlies in my day, and I absolutely cannot deal with them taking up residence in my house. Bugs belong outside, and I’ve been on a mission this past week to keep it that way in my household. After I tidy up an area and give it a good cleaning, I break out the bottle of Zevo – a new brand of powerful insect control that effectively eliminates bugs while being safe around people and pets when used as directed – and check for areas where I think the bugs may be crawling in.
When I became a mother, I began looking into more products that were safe to use around my children that didn’t leave me feeling anxious and unsure. There are 4 little hands in our house that get into everything, and if I sprayed something in the house to clean or eliminate bugs, I wanted to make sure it would not harm them if they were to come in contact with it. I felt that finding an insecticide was going to be super tricky – how could a product designed to kill a bug not hurt my little one?
That’s where Zevo really shines in my opinion. Zevo formulas were developed by entomologists and scientists that have a deep understanding of bug biology. The Zevo formulas recognize the differences between bugs and mammals, and are specially formulated to target the nervous system receptors found only in bugs and not people and pets. The active ingredients in Zevo spray are inspired by a plant’s natural defenses against bugs, and they use the power of essential oils and other familiar ingredients to target and eliminate unwanted bugs.
The Zevo spray is intended for use directly on the unwanted insects, so if you catch a line of ants crawling into your home from underneath a window sill, or you spy a cockroach scurrying around (I get shivers down my spine just saying that,) Zevo will be the hero to save the day! Just spray, remove the bug and wipe down the surface. Easy peasy, and no harmful chemicals to worry about! I’ve also grown particularly fond of the Zevo Flying Insect Trap, which utilizes a multi-spectrum light and simulated body heat instead of chemical insecticides to attract flying bugs.
We place our Zevo Flying Insect Trap in our kitchen, because it seems that that’s where those pesky house and fruit flies like to gather the most. Bugs are such resilient and smart little creatures, but I’m thankful to have a product that’s even smarter to help me get rid of them!
So far, my spring cleaning process has been pretty slow. I get to clean my home in small spurts when the baby is napping and my toddler is temporarily occupied with something else. Through my cleaning, I’ve been able to determine a few problem areas where I think bugs might be entering our house, and I’ve actually come in contact with a few bugs in the process! Window and door sills in our laundry room seem to be the biggest culprit, so I’ve been keeping our Zevo on hand to knock out the problem bugs before they try to establish their residence in my house. Thanks, Zevo!
If you’ve come in contact with bugs and insects at home and are looking for a safer way to eliminate them, I highly recommend Zevo products! There are a number of different formulas that are directed toward different types of insects, and they’re all safe to use around family members and pets when used as directed!
