Because my youngest crawled out of her Dad’s lap, went into the pantry and fetched a package of gummies, walked right past her Dad again and went across the house to find me IN THE SHOWER and stuck her hand in the shower, touched me on the butt with the gummies and then asked me to open them. 🙃

I see you, Moms. You’re amazing.

Do you take your children on individual mom/child dates?

This is something I’m wanting to do more of. I took my oldest to a downtown deli and bakery while her little sister was at gymnastics.

She ate her grilled cheese at a snail’s pace, blew bubbles in her sprite and made a yucky face at me for liking pickles. She then expressed to me that she felt it was unfair that kiwi fruit didn’t make the important list of fruit of the spirit, and I agreed. This is my child through and through.

We listened to a table of gray haired bitties fuss about their lake houses and speculate why so-and-so wasn’t in Sunday School yesterday. The chicken salad had celery in it. The audacity, honestly. I ate it anyway.

I could’ve done without the latter things, but it’s all good. We had a wonderful time and I had a wonderful view. 😍

It feels like we’re really going through some sort of storm lately. Multiple scary health concerns from family members, my father’s declining health and making really big decisions regarding that, and now a cyst that has appeared in a joint on my leg that is causing me excruciating pain.

Oh, and construction is currently going on at our house for a new workshop. That’s not a bad thing, it’s just a lot. Life just feels like a lot right now.

But I’m convinced this man is made of steel. He’s seen me crack so many times this month and filled in the gap with his gentle and loving nature immediately. Where I am weak he is more than strong, and I’m so grateful for him.

Today I’m having this cyst lanced and I’m nothing but nerves. I have a pretty low pain tolerance and I’m not thrilled that they won’t be knocking me out to do the procedure. He’ll be there holding my hand and apologizing to the staff for my mouth, I’m sure.

I couldn’t handle these storms without him. I love you, @stucker51454

Today I’m 32.

I’d love to flip it and tell you I’m 23, but nobody likes you when you’re 23. 😏

182 points to whoever gets the reference. 💯

A few things about where I’m at in life currently:

Woke up with horrible hip pain two days ago as a reward for simply existing. I’ve entered a phase of life where I become irrationally angry when I don’t understand technology immediately. And I had to invest in a retinol cream because of wrinkles or something. So that’s cool.

I also dropped over 20 lbs since this time last year and am only 4ish lbs away from my high school weight - which is so great! I started that journey when my youngest asked if I had a baby in my tummy randomly. I figured I was looking a little fluffy, so I did something about it.

THEN as I was getting her ready for VBS this morning, she asked me again if I had a baby in my tummy. I told her I didn’t, then she promptly said “well it looks like it” 😑
On my birthday, no less! Kids keep you humble. So savage.

Here’s to another notch in the 30’s! 👍🏻

Today we are celebrating a milestone for her. She’s officially promoted to 2nd grade!

Honestly, I’ve found it hard just to breathe this week. Every mother has felt this way, I’m certain.

At the beginning of this school year I prayed so hard (to the point of tears) over this child every morning before I woke her up that she would be protected from the 🦠. Now I pray to the point of tears that evil will not take her from me each time she walks out the door.

This is not the world I wanted you to inherit. And I don’t know how to fix it for you. I don’t know the answers. I will continue to lead with love, but right now Im taking it one breath at a time.

What a time to be a parent raising tiny humans in this world. I see you, Mamas (and Dads.) Sending love to you all ❤️

She’s one amazing little girl!

She earned All A honor roll and snagged the highest average in reading (for the second year in a row) during her awards day ceremony this morning. She’s finishing out her 1st grade year strong and is looking forward to summer break. 🏖

Watch out, 2nd grade! My little Sweet T is coming for you! 😍

This was seconds before the little redhead filled her cheeks with air and slapped them so she could make fart noises. She was so proud.

I just thought you should know that in case you thought raising girls was all tea parties and rainbows. 😉

Here’s a round of applause for all of the parents who got their kids up, dressed and out the door on a Sunday morning without anyone losing their minds. 👏🏻 👏🏻

That’s a Herculean task and you deserve a high five and a hug. 💯

Also - thank you SO much to my IG friend @lauraashleyburke for passing along this beautiful Lilly dress to me. You are such a beautiful human. ❤️💛❤️

Seven on Mother’s Day! 🥳 🎉

I brought her home from the hospital on my first Mother’s Day. We celebrated her first birthday on Mother’s Day. The next time her birthday falls on Mother’s Day she’ll be a teenager.

What a joy to share this day with the one who first called me Mama. ❤️

We’ve spent the entire weekend doing things she loves. Pizza, pancakes, movies and shopping for sparkly earrings. Today we’re going to the kids science center in B’ham - and she’s at a level 10/10 excited. I wouldn’t want to spend this day any other way.

Happy birthday, sweet love. I cannot believe you’re 7! ❤️

One of the girls in this photo is having a birthday tomorrow, so I let her have a shopping spree at Claire’s.

And that’s the abridged version of how Mom and Dad lost all of their money. 👍🏻😂

The other child always makes that face when you tell her to smile for photos now. I can’t wait to show her future spouse one day.

In a different season of my life you would have seen this casserole dish photographed differently.

Today it’s being used for a foam bath pool party for these toy dinosaurs. Life is funny. These days are challenging, to be honest. They’re pretty phenomenal, though. I love this season with this baby of mine. 🦖 ❤️

If you’ve been catching my stories over the last few months, you’ve undoubtedly seen me share my love for vintage bakeware - particularly Pyrex pieces.

I pulled these black and white pieces today so they could have a spotlight in my home for a little bit.

Mid century American glass and bakeware has a huge role in the culinary history of our country. I’m fascinated by all of it, and this assortment of Pyrex, Federal Glass and Hazel Atlas from the late 1950s - early 1960s is making my heart happy today.

I’m pretty partial to Pyrex patterns, but that Atomic Starburst Federal Glass pattern is 😍✨😍

We sold our very first 3D printed item one year ago today.

Today we have 9 printers that run constantly. I put in more than full time hours and my hair is a little grayer, but that’s more than okay. Was 3D printing my dream? No, not particularly. But you know what IS my dream?

Time freedom. Independence. Being my own boss. Freely creating and pursuing the things I love to do. Showing up for my family and supporting them in ways I couldn’t do when I was sitting behind someone else’s desk.

This past year allowed me to really do all of those things. And the true knockout moment for me was sitting down last week and realizing that it would have taken me 5 years at my office job to accomplish what this 3D printing business did for my family in 1 year.

That’s the dream. And I’m so stinking grateful to be living it right now.

If you’re chasing your dreams, too, I want you to know that I am rooting for you so hard. Don’t quit. Don’t settle. Keep learning, keep seeking, knock on doors and push them open when necessary. Your dreams are worth chasing, and there is no one more qualified than you to achieve them.❤️

The one with a mouth full of missing teeth is on the Wildcats. The little left handed red head is on the Little Rascals.

They’re so cute I can’t stand it. They both have games tonight at the same time. On two different fields. That’ll be fun. I’m already tired.

Last practice the redhead parked it on top of third base and opened up a Powerade and a bag of chips. Right there in the middle of practice. In front of God and everybody. That’s my girl.

A few days ago in my stories I shared my favorite seasonal candy of all time - but people had to take a wild guess first. 😜

Spoiler alert: It’s NOT Peeps. Keep guessing.

However! It became very clear to me that many of you are not peeps fans. Ya’ll basically dragged them through the coals in the guess box, and it still cracks me up. So brutal!

I’ll admit to being a fan of them, but I guess I can understand why people wouldn’t like them.

Just kidding. I don’t understand. They’re great. And look at how cute this little chocolate birds nest is with a Peep nestled on top. 😏

I’ve got a quick tutorial on the blog that shows you how to make it for all you closet peep lovers. 😉 Link in bio!

At almost 7 years old, my oldest is already almost up to my shoulders.

Don’t be fooled, though. I’m a tiny 4’11. It’s not hard to be tall next to me, but honestly I’m just thrilled that she has a fighting chance to make it over 5 feet tall. 😂 They will both very likely be petite like me, but I’m not ready to start looking UP at my kids. It may not be too terribly far away! 😅

Growing up, Easter Egg hunts were very serious in our house. My siblings and I were all very competitive. My mother would have a theme, rules, hints at ways to cheat her own system, AND varying tiers of prizes for certain eggs, including cold hard cash. We hunted eggs on into our adult years. If given the chance to hunt again with my siblings, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

There were years where there would be 200+ eggs hidden in our yard. We didn’t just have them thrown in the yard for us to pick up. It got a little intense, and honestly it was the best thing ever in my eyes.

I’ve never hidden less than 100 eggs in my yard for my girls. I go big for Easter (and all of the holidays, who am I kidding?) And we begin practicing for the big hunt now. No stone left unturned, no egg left behind. Take no prisoners, there’s money to find. 👍🏻 😆
