White Chocolate Drizzled Gingerbread Stars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 egg large
  • 3/4 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup blackstrap molasses
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • White almond bark for drizzle

Instructions

  • Using a stand or hand mixer, beat brown sugar, egg, molasses and butter until smooth
  • Add in flour, cinnamon, ginger, baking soda and salt and beat on low speed until combined
  • Cover dough and chill for 1 hour
  • Preheat oven to 350 F
  • Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray and lightly dust counter top with flour
  • Roll dough out onto counter and roll with rolling pin until dough is roughly 1/4 inches thick
  • Use a star shaped cookie cutter and cut out cookies. Gently peel away remaining dough and transfer cookies to baking sheet
  • Bake for 12 minutes and remove from oven, allow to cool briefly on pan
  • Transfer to wire rack to finish cooling and repeat process until there is no remaining dough
  • Once all cookies have cooled, break off about 4 squares of white almond bark and melt in microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between until thoroughly melted
  • Transfer melted chocolate into ziploc bag and snip the very tip off of the corner of bag
  • Drizzle desired amount of chocolate onto cookies and allow to dry
  • Enjoy!
