Can you believe that summer is just right around the corner? 2017 seems to really be flying by! We’re inching closer to Memorial Day, and I know that this time of year is the time when a lot of people start packing their belongings up and celebrating our country and our freedoms with family vacations, trips to the beach, heading out to the lake, etc. Before we know it, we’ll be celebrating our nation’s Independence Day in July with all sorts of delicious foods and desserts!
If you’re planning a fun trip or outing centered around those two holidays, these sweet little treats are just the thing to bring along with you! They’re super easy to make, really inexpensive, adorably festive and totally scrumptious! They’re also really fun for kids to make as a fun summer activity, too! 😉
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE THESE EASY PATRIOTIC VANILLA SUGAR WAFERS:
- 1 Package each of colored chocolate candy melts (found in the craft/cake decorating aisle)
- 1 Package Vanilla Sugar Wafers (I do NOT recommend using Great Value brand – they’re too flaky)
- Assorted Sprinkles
DIRECTIONS:
Melt about half of each package of candy melts according to package instructions. Lay out a sheet of parchment paper and dip each wafer into the chocolate. Place the dipped wafers on the parchment paper and immediately decorate with sprinkles. Allow to dry for a few minutes. Once dry, immediately place in an air tight container so that the wafers don’t get stale. Enjoy!
One of my favorite things about these easy little sugar wafers is that they’re SO easy to make for any and all seasons and holidays! You may remember me sharing these Strawberry Valentine Wafers and these St. Patrick’s Day Wafers, too. They’re always a hit no matter the season!
If you’ve got a little extra chocolate left over, make these fun and easy Patriotic Ice Cream Cone Cups!
Stay tuned for some more fun and simple patriotic snack ideas coming your way! I’ve got a few things planned that I’m sure you’re going to love!
Is your family making big plans to celebrate Memorial Day or the 4th of July? Leave a comment and share what you’re doing – I want to hear all about it!
