You know what truly excites me? Watching a small business grow and thrive. It is so encouraging and inspiring to me to see small businesses – especially businesses run by mothers – learn from their customers and create quality products that are not only great for the consumer, but great for the earth as well. Bebeboo Diapers definitely hits the mark when it comes to being a company that cares about its customers, cares about its product and cares about the notion that we can change our planet by spreading education about the benefits of using reusable diapering products – and the diapers they create and truly spectacular!
I’m no stranger to cloth diapering by any means. I’m currently on year 4 of cloth diapering, and I’ve used numerous different brands on my two girls over the years. In fact, I shared a post about my very first experience using Bebeboo diapers back in December of 2018 that you can find here! Since that time, Bebeboo has undergone a few “remodeling” changes with their diapers and have even launched a few new products and prints that are so beautiful!
What was previously known as their AI2 diaper has now been renamed as their “Choice” diaper, which I think is a brilliant name for the product. Because you can use the diaper as either a pocket diaper or an AI2 with a snap-in insert, I never felt that it was truly an AI2. You really have the choice of using it as either a pocket or AI2, so the name fits the bill perfectly. Inside the Choice diaper, they also changed the inner lining and the insert to aid with drying time of the system.
When I initially got the news that they changed the inner lining and the inserts, I was very unsure. As I stated in my previous review, those two features were my absolute favorite features of their AI2 diaper. In my opinion, their extra soft inner lining and their thick insert made the diaper feel very luxurious. And while the drying time on the insert was a bit longer, I did not mind it, because I have several other inserts in my rotation that require a little extra drying time as well.
The inner lining is now made with a an athletic wicking jersey material, which is intended to make the diaper feel cooler to baby while wicking away moisture from the baby’s skin. This was a first for me – I have actually never seen this material used in a diaper before. While I do not prefer this material over their previously used materials, I do love the concept of it, and it does seem to keep my daughter’s skin feeling nice and dry. The inserts that now come with the Choice diaper still have 5 layers of absorbent bamboo, but the weave is shorter, making it thinner than the previous inserts.
While change is a good thing, this particular change didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I felt that the inserts were a little too thin for us to use as a stand alone insert, and my daughter wet completely through them within about 45 minutes. These inserts feel more like a booster to me, so that is what we will use it for in the future. However, the overall shape, size and style of the diaper fits my baby like a glove, and the materials give the perfect amount of stretch so that my baby can crawl around comfortably without the feeling of having a stiff, bulky diaper on her. That’s a big win for us! The Choice Diaper retails for $17.95.
The AI2 Choice diaper comes in One Size, fitting babies from approximately 10-35 lbs. Laken is wearing the beautiful Verbena color that released on August 1st, along with two other beautiful and vibrant solids – Rubber Duckie and Grasshopper. Bebeboo Diapers also released two gorgeous new prints – Here Comes the Sun and Arabian Nights, which you can see below in this gorgeous bib Laken loves to wear during meal time!
The Fine Bib is also a new release from Bebeboo, and they’re available in the two new print releases. We were sent the Arabian Nights print, and it is SO stunningly beautiful! I think this release came at a perfect time as the live action version of Aladdin was just released this summer. Aladdin was my all time favorite Disney movie, so I instantly felt a deep connection with this print. It is also made from the jersey knit material, and it has a pocket opening at the bottom to catch those stray crumbs and puffs that come tumbling down during meals. The Fine Bib retails for $7.50
