The official “first day of summer” was June 20th, but it’s been summer here in Alabama since late April at least! It it H-O-T outside, and my sweet little toddler is going crazy bouncing off of our walls just begging to go outside. She absolutely loves to be outdoors, but there’s such a small window of time early in the morning and in the late afternoon that we can do it without feeling like we’re going to suffer a heat stroke.
So on those special occasions when we do get to go outside, we make sure we head towards the shaded parts of our yard and let loose!
On days where we don’t have anywhere to be except for at home, her wardrobe consists of t-shirts or casual dresses and a cute cloth diaper. In fact, sometimes I just let her wear the diaper only! All of her diapers are so adorably cute, they make a fashion statement all on their own!
And of course a girl has to accessorize! My daughter loves to wear this sweet little gumball necklace from time to time (and who could blame her?!) She loves to spin the breads around and strike a pose just to melt my heart a little more. Her costume jewelry necklace just so happened to match this sweet little puppy dog diaper that is new to our stash, so I broke out the camera and snapped a few pics!
I recently purchased this cute little puppy dog themed cloth diaper in a set from Lil’ Eco Cloth Diapers on Amazon for just $12! Lil’ Eco diapers are made responsibly in China by an American mompreneur. I was a little hesitant that these would be just another “china cheapie” type of diaper, but I have found them to be very high quality and dependable! They’ve even earned a coveted spot in my rotation as a nap time diaper, and that’s a big deal!
I also love the idea of supporting working moms who have a passion for making great and sustainable children’s products. I get so excited to see other mom bosses succeeding and earning an income by doing things they love!
So basically during these dog days of summer, little Miss T is keeping busy making a fashion statement by wearing gaudy (but cute) costume jewelry and prancing around our front yard wearing nothing but a diaper and a smile. Just livin’ the life! 😉

We are mostly hanging out near home and checking out free events close by. I did just convince my husband to spend a week at the cabin since I haven’t taken time off since returning to work from maternity leave in September
We live in the mountains, so we’re spending lots of time hiking and visiting rivers and waterfalls!
We play outside with water toys. We are also going on vacation.
We have been going on family hikes on local trails
We haven’t been doing much this summer, trying to save money! We have been grilling out, and trying our hand at growing tomatoes.
We like going to the splash pad near by.
We got a zoo pass for those nice days and on rainy days, we go to the library.
We are spending our summer preparing to move in August, spending lots of time with friends we will miss and going to all of our favorite places and restaurants in our city. Also packing, cleaning and trying to sell our house 🙁

I’m 8 months pregnant right now, so my summer has consisted of getting ready for baby, relaxing, avoiding the heat, and prepping our dogs for the new baby- that’s why this diaper would be perfect for our stash!

Sadly summer is over for me next week? Back to teaching next week. I have been driving my convertible and riding my bike as much as possible!

We got home last night from several days of camping/fishing. It’s 9:30am and the kids are still asleep!
